Orthodontics focuses on diagnosing, preventing, and correcting misaligned teeth and jaws. This field not only enhances your smile but also improves oral health by making teeth easier to clean, reducing the risk of cavities and gum disease.
At Stanmore Bay Dental Studio, our traditional braces are a reliable solution for addressing issues like crooked teeth, overbites, underbites, and minor jaw alignment, leading to improved function and aesthetics. With their proven effectiveness, traditional braces offer a comprehensive approach to achieving a healthier, more confident smile.
Braces are more than just a tool for achieving a beautiful smile; they play a crucial role in maintaining and improving oral health. By correcting misalignments, braces make it easier to clean teeth effectively, reducing the risk of cavities and gum disease.
Here’s why getting braces might be the right choice for you or your child:
Correct Misalignments:
Braces effectively address crooked or crowded teeth, ensuring they are properly aligned. This not only enhances your smile but also makes it easier to clean your teeth, reducing the risk of cavities and gum disease.
Improve Bite Function:
Misaligned bites, such as overbites, underbites, and crossbites, can lead to difficulties in chewing and speaking. Braces help correct these issues, improving overall oral function and comfort.
Prevent Future Dental Problems:
Early intervention with braces can prevent more serious dental issues from developing later in life. By addressing alignment and bite problems early, you can avoid the need for more invasive procedures in the future.
Enhance Self-Confidence:
A straight, beautiful smile can significantly boost self-esteem and confidence. Whether it’s for a child, teen, or adult, the psychological benefits of a confident smile are invaluable.
Support Jaw Health:
Properly aligned teeth and jaws can alleviate jaw pain and reduce the risk of temporomandibular joint disorders. This leads to improved comfort and overall oral health.
Traditional braces offer a reliable and comprehensive solution for a wide range of dental issues, while Invisalign offers a discreet option with clear aligners.
Here are the main differences between traditional braces and Invisalign:
Metal brackets provide proven effectiveness for a wide range of issues. And typically produce the best results
Clear aligners are less noticeable.
Fixed brackets ensure consistent treatment without the need for removal.
Aligners can be removed for eating and cleaning.
Suitable for complex dental issues and severe misalignments.
Effective for mild to moderate cases.
No need for patient compliance in wearing, as they are fixed.
Requires strict compliance (and be worn 22+ hours a day).
